Skoda Auto India is gearing up for a significant milestone as it prepares to launch its first electric vehicle, the Enyaq, in the Indian market on February 27, 2024, reported HT Auto.

This move follows the growing trend of automakers entering the EV space, catering to the rising consumer demand for sustainable transportation.

First showcased at the Bharat Global Mobility Expo earlier this month, the Enyaq was also spotted undergoing tests on Indian roads, generating anticipation for its official arrival.

This globally unveiled 2022 model will reach India through the Completely Built-Up (CBU) route, leveraging Skoda’s MEB platform. This platform is also shared with its soon-to-be-launched counterpart, the Volkswagen ID.4.

The Enyaq distinguishes itself with a wheelbase measuring 2765 mm and dimensions of 4648 mm in length, 1877 mm in width, and 1618 mm in height. Its two-row configuration provides a spacious yet compact profile, setting it apart from Skoda's flagship SUV, the Kodiaq.

The SUV's design showcases distinctive features, including an illuminated grille, sweptback LED headlamps, contrast black inserts, and aero-inspired alloy wheels. The rear end is characterized by wraparound two-piece LED tail lights, Skoda lettering, and a number plate recess on the tailgate, complemented by an integrated spoiler and a shark-fin antenna.

Inside, the Enyaq is expected to provide a modern and luxurious experience with amenities like an advanced driver-assistance system (ADAS), a 360-degree camera, dual all-digital displays, and a multifunction steering wheel for an intuitive driving experience.

Initially launching in the Enyaq 80 variant, the SUV packs a 77 kWh battery pack offering a WLTP claimed range of 500 km, ensuring ample juice for daily commutes and weekend getaways without range anxiety. Powering the Enyaq is a rear-mounted electric motor generating 200 bhp and 310 Nm of torque, propelling it from 0-100 kmph in a swift 8.5 seconds.
