Though the rates of the fuel remained on the higher side, those are stable in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack on Saturday. The rates have been unchanged since April 6.

Customers are reportedly paying Rs 112.68 per litre of petrol in the Capital city of Bhubaneswar today while diesel is available at Rs 102.35 a litre.

Similarly, petrol and diesel are sold at Rs 112.85 and Rs 102.58 per litre respectively in the Millenium city Cuttack.

The rise in the prices of petrol and diesel has affected the budget of the common man hard.

India meets 80 per cent of its oil needs through imports. Retail rates are adjusted according to the global movement in crude prices.

Meanwhile, the government has increased the price of domestic LPG cylinders by Rs 3.50 per cylinder . This is the second hike in the cooking gas rates this month.

According to sources, the price of non-subsidized LPG cylinders (14.2 kg) is at Rs 1029.50 in Bhubaneswar.
