Amid the fluctuation in gold and silver rates across the country, the price for 24-carat gold per 10 gram reached Rs 51550 in Bhubaneswar on Thursday.

For 23-carat, the price of 10 grams of yellow metal reached Rs 48,300 while the rate of 22-carat gold reached Rs 46,290.

Similarly, the rate of 20, 18 and 14-carat gold is at Rs 42100, Rs 38100 and Rs 29800, respectively. Pure Ginni (gold coin) is being traded at Rs 39400 on Thursday.

Meanwhile, gold is being traded at Rs 5,150 per gram (GST 995) and at Rs 5,130 (Cash 995) in Cuttack.

On the other hand, one kilogram of silver is being sold at Rs 58,100 (with GST) in Bhubaneswar on Thursday.

Notably, factors such as state taxes, excise duty, and making charges lead to changes in the price of gold in India.

Meanwhile, in global markets, gold rates are down 20% since scaling above the $2,000 level in March, as rapid US monetary tightening by US Fed made non-yielding gold less attractive. Spot silver today fell 0.4% to $18.82 per ounce.

Gold is expected to see choppy trade today while silver likely to trade with mild negative bias, domestic brokerage Geojit said in a note.
