Its tag line was ‘Definitely Male’ and it managed to pull the youth like no other bike had done earlier to 2001 when Bajaj launched Pulsar for the first time in India.

However, after going through many makeovers, facelifts and upgradations, the dream bike of every teenager back in the 2000s, the first generation Pulsar is likely to be introduced again as a retro styled bike, reported Zig Wheels.

As per the reports, Bajaj has filed trademarks for two new models – the Pulsar Eleganz and Pulsar Elan. While the latter is yet to receive clearance, the Eleganz has been accepted already.

With the two wheeler manufacturers from TVS to Yamaha are heading for presenting the youth bikes with retro styling, the Bajaj too seemed to be joining the bandwagon with its highest-selling bike in the country.

So, while the upcoming Pulsar could feature the “masculine” styling of the first generation with its round headlight and muscular fuel tank, it will likely be based on the new 250cc platform seen on the Pulsar N250 and the F250, reported Zig Wheels. However, Bajaj may not use the same engine for this one.

The Bajaj Pulsar is an iconic Indian motorcycle brand. Since its inception, the Pulsar created a new segment called ‘Sports Biking’ in Indian motorcycling and redefined motorcycle riding for the Indian youth.

Bajaj Auto Limited has added 10 models to the Pulsar portfolio in the last two decades with engine specifications from 125 cc to 250 cc.

Bajaj Auto was founded by Jamnalal Bajaj, a philanthropist and a close confidante of Mahatma Gandhi. The Bajaj Group, is one of the most respected and renowned business houses of India. The journey started eighty years back with a sugar factory in Lakhimpur Kheri, Uttar Pradesh.

Later, the group diversified into a variety of business areas.
