Extending its line of electric vehicles, Tata Motors launched Punch EV on Wednesday. Its prices range from Rs 10.99 lakh-14.49 lakh.

The EV gets two battery options and comes in five variants. Long range models get the option of a 7.2kW AC fast charger for a premium of Rs 50,000, while the Adventure, Empowered and Empowered+ variants on both models can be had with a sunroof for an additional Rs 50,000.

The Punch EV’s starting price is Rs 5 lakh more than its ICE (internal combustion engine) version, the main contributor being the battery pack. Compared to the Tata Tiago EV, Tata’s most affordable electric offering, the Punch EV is more expensive by Rs 2.3 lakh.

For charging options, the Punch EV supports 50 kW DC fast charging, using which its battery pack can be juiced up from 10-80 percent in 56 minutes. For charging at home, the Punch EV comes with the option of two AC chargers, 7.2 kW and 3.3 kW.

Its interior is considerably more premium than its ICE counterpart with a new dashboard design and twin 10.25-inch screens for its infotainment and digital instrument display and paddles on the steering wheel to control the regen levels. Lower variants of the EV are equipped with a smaller, 7-inch infotainment unit.

The equipment list is vast and includes features like ventilated front seats, 360-deg camera, blind spot monitor, wireless phone charger, sunroof, cabin air purifier and more.

Tata had already opened bookings for Punch EV earlier this month for a token amount of Rs 21,000.
