Indian car maker, Tata Motors is all set to launch the fourth electric vehicle in its line up in the form of Punch EV. The manufacturer is reportedly going to showcase it in the 2023 Auto Expo.

Sources said, the Punch EV will be positioned between the recently released Tata Tiago EV and Tata Tigor EV, despite the fact that the ICE version of the Punch is one of the brand's best-selling vehicles.

The Ziptron powertrain from the manufacturer is likely to be used in the Punch's drivetrain, and it may receive the same characteristics as the Tiago EV.

As per a report in CarWale, in terms of features, the Punch EV is likely to have an identical list with a touchscreen infotainment system, a semi-digital instrument cluster, re-gen mode, and drive modes.

Corroborating the fact, Team BHP in its report stated, "The Tata Punch is based on the ALFA platform, which it shares with the Altroz hatchback. The all-electric version will use a modified version of the same architecture and will be powered by the brand’s Ziptron powertrain. It could be offered with multiple battery options."

It is pertinent to mention here that Tata Motors will increase the price of its smallest electric vehicle, the Tata Tiago EV, by up to Rs. 35,000. Launched in September 2022, the car is offered in two range options and five variants, currently priced between Rs 8.49 lakh to Rs. 11.79 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Although the prices for the Tiago EV were announced in September, deliveries for the car will begin from January 2023, and the price revision will also happen around that time.
