Mercedes-Benz India is set to showcase the EQG electric SUV concept at the 2024 Bharat Mobility Global Expo next month.

The Mercedes-Benz EQG concept, an all-electric version of the popular G-wagon, was unveiled at the IAA Mobility Show in Munich in September 2021.

The Concept EQG is Mercedes-Benz’s presentation of a near-production study of an all-electric model variant of its utilitarian off-road icon. The Concept EQG combines its iconic origin and uncompromising off-road capabilities with futuristic elements of the Mercedes-Benz world.

Visually, the concept car combines the look of the G-Class with selected design elements, typical of all-electric models from Mercedes as contrasting highlights.

The EQG is based on the same ladder-frame chassis as the ICE-powered G-Class. It is equipped with an independent front suspension and a rigid rear axle. A 4x4 drive system comes standard along with a 2-speed transmission with low and high-range gearing.

It has a black front fascia with a blanked-out grille featuring an illuminated frame and a large Mercedes three-pointed star in the centre. The SUV also gets unique 22-inch wheels, redesigned front and rear bumpers and a square-shaped storage unit mounted on the tailgate instead of a spare wheel.

The Bharat Mobility Global Expo will be held at the Bharat Mandapam in Delhi from February 1-3, 2024.
