Maruti Suzuki launches New Alto K10; check out price, specs

Ending all the speculations and assumptions, Maruti Suzuki on Thursday which happens to be Janmashtami, launched the new 2022 Alto K10 amid much fanfare.

Priced at Rs 3.99 lakh onwards (Ex-showroom), the new Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 will be sold alongside the company’s entry-level hatchback, the Alto 800.

The Alto K10 is longer and taller than its predecessor, allowing more leg and head room. Maruti Suzuki has modified the interior of the hatchback to offer more space inside, especially for the second-row occupants.

However, the highlight of the new car is its engine. It comes with a 1.0-litre three-cylinder K-Series unit that makes 65 bhp and 89 Nm of torque. The engine is paired to a standard 5-speed manual gearbox and an optional AMT. The new Alto returns a claimed mileage of 24.9 kmpl, reported the Financial Express.

During the launch event, Maruti Suzuki announced customising options for the new Alto K10. The carmaker offers two options – Impacto and Glinto. They have various bits to enhance the looks of the car to make them unique.

As per the Financial Express report, Maruti will soon announce a CNG version of the new K10, however, no timeline details have been revealed.

The booking for this car was thrown open for the buyers on August 10.

While opening the booking, the Senior Executive Officer (Marketing & Sales) of Maruti Suzuki India Limited, Shashank Srivastava had said, “The All-New Alto K10 will democratize new age technology and features in the hatchback cars. We are confident that the All-New Alto K10 together with Alto 800 will bring pride of ownership & joy of mobility to many more customers in India.”

Maruti Suzuki’s Chief Technical Officer (Engineering), CV Raman said, “Built on Suzuki’s signature HEARTECT platform, the All-New Alto K10 will ensure a safe, comfortable and enjoyable driving experience while offering an excellent NVH performance. We have laid special focus on offering a modern design, a spacious cabin and a technology-driven, user-friendly interior interface to cater to our ever-evolving customers.”

Customers can book the Alto K10 with an initial payment of Rs 11,000 at any ARENA Showroom or by logging in to their website.
