As the Korean automaker Kia is gearing up to launch the EV6 all-electric crossover in India later this year, the leaked official brochure has made some startling revelations about its India-specific EV6 model.

The brand will commence the EV6 bookings from May 26 and the first batch will be limited to just 100 units due to global supply constraints, reported The Times of India.

According to the leaked brochure, the India-specific Kia EV6 could be offered in two powertrain options, including the Rear Wheel Drive (RWD) and All-Wheel Drive (AWD). However, the company is yet to make an official confirmation on the same.

Both versions will make use of a 77.4 kWh lithium-ion battery. The RWD single motor variant churns out 225 hp power and 350 Nm torque while the AWD dual-motor variant produces 321 hp power and 605 Nm torque.

As far as the range and performance is concerned, the EV6 RWD will offer a range up to 528 km (WLTP) per charge while the EV6 AWD will have a range of 425 km. The brand claims that the EV6 in AWD version goes from 0-100 kmph in barely 3.5 seconds. The RWD model on the other hand will take a little over five seconds for the 0-100 kmph sprint, Team BHP reported.

The lithium-ion battery can be charged from 0-80% in just 18 minutes with a 350 kW fast charger while it takes around 73 minutes to charge from 0-80% using a 50 kW fast charger. It should be noted that the fast-chargers available commonly in India right now mostly include the 50 kW chargers.

As per the data revealed by the Team BHP, the Kia EV6 GT Line AWD variant gets an Augmented Reality heads-up display, automatic flush door handles, powered tailgate and more. Some key highlights of the EV6 include, multi-drive modes, paddle shifters for regeneration, 10-way power-adjustable front seats, rain-sensing wipers, dual-zone automatic climate control, 14-speaker Meridian sound system, 12.3-inch dual-screen setup.

However, in the RWD version, some of these features will be knocked off or will be offered in a lower spec in interest of a lower price.

In terms of safety, the EV6 comes equipped with a host of features, such as 8 airbags, ESC and all-wheel disc brakes with ABS and Brake Assist. The electric crossover also gets Advanced Driver Assistance System features that include Lane Keep Assist, Blind-spot Detection with Collision-Avoidance Assist, Lane Follow Assist, Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go functionality, Forward Collision Avoidance Assist and Safe Exit Assist, reported Team BHP.
