Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India has officially revealed its scooter Dio 125. It is bigger and powerful than the previous Dio. Honda has placed it in the Grazia territory and without much differentiation.

Honda seems to have adopted a strategy of plugging the gap of 125 cc scooter sales after Grazia failed to attract buyers. It brings on a hit brand (Dio) and puts it in the Grazia segment.

Powering the Dio 125 is the same engine that's found in the Grazia and Activa 125, and while the press release doesn’t claim any output figures, the larger Dio shouldn’t stray too far from the 8.3hp/10.4Nm output figures of the other two. Suspending the underbone frame is a familiar telescopic fork/monoshock set-up and the Dio 125 has a generous 171mm of ground clearance on offer.

The Dio 125 comes with sporty intents and surprisingly, the company says that there is a dual outlet muffler that produces sporty exhaust note (a hint of which we heard in the teasers). This is a clear learning that has come from the competition, TVS Ntorq.

The Dio 125 is equipped with the Honda Smart key system that gives it various interesting features.

Price (Ex-Showroom Delhi)

Dio 125 Standard is priced at Rs 83,400, while Dio 125 Smart is priced at Rs 91,300.
