Honda launched the BS6-compliant version of its Activa scooter, 6G H-Smart in India on Monday.

The price of Honda Activa 6G starts at Rs 75,121 and goes upto Rs 80,537. Honda Activa 6G is offered in 4 variants - STD, DLX, Premium Edition and the top variant Activa 6G H-Smart which comes at a price tag of Rs 80,537.

It boasts of segment-first features and is cleaner than before. The key, named by Honda as H-Smart, adds a number of features, including Smart Find, which allows you to locate the scooter using the key, Smart Unlock, which locks the scooter after 20 seconds of inactivity, Smart Start, which enables you to ride the scooter without physically using the key as soon as the key is within 2 metres of the vehicle, and Smart Safe, which uses a Mapped Smart ECU to prevent vehicle theft.

As per reports, the engine has undergone some significant upgrades as a result of the switch to the tougher emission standards. The 109.51cc, fuel-injected single-cylinder motor of the BS6 Activa is larger than the 109.19cc, carburetted motor on the BS4-spec scooter. Despite the slightly bigger engine, power output is lower by 0.17 horsepower, dropping from 7.96 horsepower at 7,500 RPM to 7.79 horsepower at 8,000. Additionally, the torque has also dropped from 9Nm at 5,500 rpm to 8.79Nm at 5,250 rpm.

A telescopic fork has been added, and the Activa 5G's 10-inch front wheel has been replaced with a 12-inch wheel in the 6G. Other features carried over from the Activa 125 to the smaller Activa include the pass light switch and an exterior fuel filler cap that can be accessed using a switch next to the keyhole.

A "Silent Start" mechanism, which we recently saw on the new Activa 125 BS6, is also available for the Activa 6G. Additionally, Honda asserts that the new Activa 6G is 10% more fuel-efficient.

In a related development, Honda has also confirmed an Activa Electric for the Indian market.
