BYD (Build Your Dreams) has begun delivery of the Atto 3 electric SUV. The Chinese producer said that in January 2023, it delivered the first batch of 340 EV SUVs in India. In the same time frame, BYD sold 23,231 Atto 3 units internationally.

Atto 3 rivals MG ZS EV, Hyundai Kona Electric and Tata Nexon EV Max.

Priced at Rs 33.99 lakh (ex-showroom), only 1,200 units of the Atto 3 SUV will be available, claims the manufacturer.

For the Atto 3, BYD has already received more than 2,000 bookings. The model comes in four different colours, including Boulder Grey, Parkour Red, Ski White, and Surf Blue, and is offered in a single, fully loaded variant.

BYD displayed a Special Edition of the Atto 3 electric SUV, valued at Rs 34.49 lakh, at the Auto Expo 2023. It featured a fresh Forest Green paintjob (ex-showroom). This new version is now being ordered and delivered.

Speaking on the occasion, Sanjay Gopalakrishnan, Senior Vice President, Electric Passenger Vehicle Business, BYD India, said, “We are delighted to announce deliveries of our first-born EV platform (e-Platform 3.0) premium electric SUV in India. We have been receiving an incredible response for the BYD Atto 3 e-SUV from customers. The excitement and enthusiasm to own and drive the sporty and feature-rich BYD Atto 3 is exuberant. The customer feedback and interest make us confident of capturing the Indian electric vehicle segment at a faster pace than we could have thought of.”
