The jury have announced the winners of the coveted 18th Indian Car of the Year (ICOTY), 16th Indian Motorcycle of the Year (IMOTY), 5th Premium Car Award and the 3rd Green Car Award in Delhi on Friday.

Indian Car Of The Year 2023 – Kia Carens

The Kia Carens took the crown for this year’s ICOTY 2023 Award. It was picked from a curated list of ten models that included the likes of Hyundai Tucson, Volkswagen Virtus, Maruti Alto K10 and Citroen C3.

Similarly, the TVS Ronin, Bajaj Pulsar N160, KTM RC 390, Yezdi Adventure, Yezdi Scrambler, Suzuki V-Strom SX, Triumph Tiger 660, Honda CB300F, and BMW G 310 RR provided stiff competition to the Royal Enfield Hunter 350, which won the 2023 IMOTY title.

The Mercedes EQS 580 has been voted the Premium Car Of The Year 2023. This year’s list included ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) vehicles such as the Audi Q3, Jeep Grand Cherokee and Range Rover, as well as EVs such as the BMW i4 and iX. The hotly contested Premium Car Of The Year Award is given to cars priced above Rs 40 lakh.

Green Car Of The Year - Kia EV6

Among a long list of hybrid and fully electric models spanning multiple segments, the Kia EV6 was adjudged this year’s Green Car Of The Year. It was chosen from a list that included splendid EVs and hybrids including the Honda City eHEV and Mini Cooper SE.

The most coveted vehicle awards in the country, the Indian Car Of The Year and Indian Motorcycle Of The Year were held in Delhi on January 12, 2023. Kicked off in 2005 and 2007, respectively, the ICOTY and IMOTY's jury is composed of 18 of India's finest motor-heads, including evo India's editor Sirish Chandran and assistant-editor Aatish Mishra. These awards have been backed by JK Tyre ever since their inception.
