New Delhi: The trailing times are gone for Odisha when it comes to national-level beauty pageants. Of late, many have made their presence felt in the fashion industry and it looks as if the models from the State are right on track to dominate the ramp. Two girls from Bhubaneswar have brought laurels for the State by shining at the Miss Teen Universe India 2021 beauty pageant held in Delhi last week.
Preetika Jena, a Class 9 student from DAV Unit-8 in Bhubaneswar was adjudged the winner of the contest. Tammanna Dash, who is in her Grade-8 in Been School of Bhubaneswar became the first runner-up.
Interestingly, both these representatives from Odisha were mentored by Lavanya Das, the winner of Miss Teen India Diva International 2019, who was crowned in the same platform.

The event Miss and Mrs India Universe pageant was held at Palm Green Resorts in Delhi from February 12-14, 2021.
And the mentor, Lavanya Das, was also declared the Brand Ambassador of Virus Films Entertainment 2021 during the event. She further happens to be the state coordinator of Odisha.
Beauty pageants, one like this, are organised to give wings to the girls, who by the exposure and the experience gained, gradually realise their personal, professional and philanthropic goals which build self-confidence in them for future endeavours, say organisers.
