Woman, Daughter Among 3 Missing After Boat Capsizes In Malkangiri

Malkangiri: Three persons including a woman and her daughter went missing after a country-made boat they were travelling in to cross the Chitrakonda reservoir capsized in Malkangiri district on Wednesday.

The boat was ferrying 11 persons from Orapadar to Bakuli under Andarapali Panchayat in Chitrakonda block when it capsized.

While eight of them managed to swim back to the river bank, three others including a woman and her daughter reported missing.

Following the accident, the firefighters have launched a rescue operation in the reservoir to trace out the missing persons with the help of locals.
