Truck Runs Over Senior Lawyer In Sambalpur, Locals Set Vehicle Afire

A truck was torched by angry locals near Saralakani square on NH-53 in Sambalpur city after it ran over a man who was on a morning walk on Saturday morning.

The deceased has been identified as a senior lawyer, Umesh Chandra Pradhan from Sambalpur.

Tension mounted in the area after the mishap occurred. Other lawyers with the help of the locals blocked the road and staged protest demanding the presence of the NHAI officials and the District authorities on the spot.

Soon, Police reached the spot and tried to pacify the agitators after sending the body for autopsy.
