At least two students got critically injured after a speeding car hit them near Gudiapokari in Pipili of Puri district on Thursday. They have been admitted to the Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar.

Two others who were part of the student group, have reportedly sustained minor injuries.

As per reports, the four students were returning from tuitions when the unidentified car mowed them down in front of the CIFA office in Pipili.

Furious over the incident, locals staged a road blockade near Puri-Bhubaneswar road demanding identification of the car and arrest of the culprit driver at the earliest.

Till the last report came in, police were on the spot to pacify the irate locals and avoid any untoward situation.
