Speeding luxury car crashes into divider on Bhubaneswar street; 3 escape unhurt

Three occupants including a school student in a luxury car had a narrow escape after the ill-fated vehicle crashed into a divider on Bhubaneswar street on Thursday afternoon.

According to sources, a speeding BMW car crashed into a divider on the Maitri Vihar-Sailashree Vihar road in the State capital and suffered major damage.

While the alloy of the wheels of the car was damaged in the mishap, fortunately, no one was hurt in the crash.

“The car was moving at a speed of 70-80 kmph and it was raining. When I applied the break, it skidded and collided with the divider. There are three persons including me inside the car and no one is hurt in the accident,” the driver of the ill-fated vehicle said.

An eyewitness said, “Overspeeding might be the reason behind the accident."  

On being informed about the mishap, Maitri Vihar police reached the spot and launched an investigation into the matter.
