Odisha Man Dies In Accident After Hearing Wife’s Death

Apparently devastated by the news about wife’s death, Dillip Nayak, from Harekrushnapur village under Dhenkanal Sadar Police limits, met with an accident that took his life on Thursday.

The tragic incident occurred when Dillip’s bike crashed into a tree near Biswanathpur village under Gondia Police limits when he was rushing back home after hearing about his wife's death.

As per reports, Dillip had gone with a friend for some work when he received the information about the death of his wife, Pinjiri Nayak whose body was recovered from the house when Dillip was away.

Dillip’s friend Hemanta Behera, who was riding pillion with him sustained serious injuries in the accident. He is currently undergoing treatment at the Dhenkanal District Head Quarters Hospital (DHH).

Speaking about the incident, Dillip’s uncle, Jayakrushna Nayak said, “I was in Kaimati for business when I got a phone call informing the accident involving Dillip. He had already breathed his last even before I reached the spot.”

Asked about the death of Dillip’s wife, Pinjiri, Nayak said, “I was away for some work. I do not know how she died.”

It is suspected that Pinjiri died by suicide over some domestic disputes. However, it is yet to be established by the police.
