Man on his way to drop daughter in school crushed to death under speeding truck in Sundargarh

A man was crushed to death under a truck right in front of the eyes of his wife and daughter while dropping the little girl to her school. The woman and her daughter also sustained grievous injuries in the mishap.

The heart-wrenching incident has been reported from Sundargarh town near Parijat Park.

Like every other day, the man was on his way to drop his daughter to school. His wife had joined him as the couple had planned to do some shopping after dropping their daughter. However, a speeding coal-laden truck shattered the lives of the happy family.

The little girl has lost her father while her mother has become a widow, thanks to the negligent and reckless driving of the truck drivers engaged in coal transportation.

Illegal parking and reckless driving by the truck drivers have cost many lives here. Despite repeated accidents, the officials concerned are least bothered and do not take any action against the errant truck drivers, locals alleged.

The incident spread outrage as angry locals demanded a ban on the entry of trucks in the area. Tension prevailed high in the area during the filing of this report.
