Eight persons injured in collision between SUV and truck in Boudh

As many as eight persons on their way to Puri were left battling for their lives after a bolero carrying them collided head-on with a speeding truck near Bahira Square under Baunsuni police limits in Boudh district on the wee hours of Sunday.

All the injured are from one family and hail from Bijepur in Bargarh district. On a bolero, all of them were on their way to Puri. The incident occurred when the truck was en route to Boudh from Sonepur. The two vehicles collided head-on with each other near Bahira Square, leaving all eight persons critically injured.

Locals with the help of Odisha Fire Services Department personnel rescued all the injured and admitted them to the local hospital. All of them have sustained critical injuries on their head, limbs, and torso. The intensity of the collision was so hard that the SUV has been mangled in the mishap, reports said.
