Car-truck collision leaves 3 dead on NH 57 in Khordha

At least three persons travelling in a car were killed after the vehicle collided head-on with a truck on National Highway 57 near Panchukot Dhaba in Bolagarh area of Khordha district on Wednesday.

The mishap occurred when the car was en route to Nayagarh from Bhubaneswar. All three occupants of the car died on the spot.

The collision was so severe that the car was badly damaged. Bolagarh police rushed to the spot, seized the vehicles and shifted the deceased and the injured to Khordha district headquarters hospital.

It is learnt that the deceased hailed from Gandhinagar of Gujarat. As Jagannath bhoga (prasad) was found in the car, it was believed that the occupants were returning from Puri.
