A bus ferrying passengers to Bhubaneswar met with an accident at Satasankha near Puri. As many as five people have been injured in the mishap.

According to sources, the bus named 'Sarala' lost its control due to heavy rainfall and rammed into a road divider beforing overturning.

As per reports, the mishap occurred at around 12.45 pm. Some of the eyewitness revealed that the driver was tired already due to over duty during Sunabesha.

As the driver was tired, it is suspected that he was dozing off.

All the injured passengers have been admitted to Satasankha medical.

Earlier on July 1, a senior photojournalist in Odisha died in a tragic road mishap near Satasankha while travelling in a vehicle way to cover the world-famous Rath Yatra festival.

The deceased identified as one Ashok Panda, was working as a photojournalist for a vernacular daily. He was on his way to Puri to cover the annual sojourn of Lord Jagannath.
