In a shocking incident, a Bengaluru man went to coma and is battling for life after he met with an accident. His wife alleged, the accident happened because of a pothole.

This isn’t the first time, a person has been injured or died because of a pothole in Bengaluru. There are several such reports of road mishaps due to potholes in the Tech Hub.

The 36-year-old deceased has been identified as Sandeep, a resident of Gurubhavana Giridhama Nagar in Doddabettahalli of Vidyaranyapura. The incident occurred while Sandeep was returning home after playing cricket with his friends.

He was riding a TVS Jupiter near Gangamma Circle in Jalahalli when he lost balance and fell down due to a pothole.

With severe head injury, he was rushed to a hospital by locals and passers-by. After preliminary treatment, he was shifted to Manipal Hospital near Hebbal for better treatment. However, he went to coma and is battling for his life now.

Speaking to reporters, his wife said, “My husband met with an accident due to a pothole. I visited the accident spot and found potholes there.”

While officials went to the hospital, they reportedly returned without meeting Sandeep and his family.

On the other hand, a head police constable, lodged a complaint in this regard. However, he has not mentioned any potholes and instead stated rash and negligent riding by Sandeep for the reason of the accident.

Similarly, a biker - who was crossing the Yelahanka Road - died after he was hit by a car that overturned due to a pothole on Saturday.

Deaths in city of Bengaluru are turning out to be a huge concern. In another incident, a 50-year-old woman was run over by a bus after she fell off her scooty while trying to maneuver a pothole in Rajajinagar earlier this month.
