4 die, 1 injured as bike collides head-on with truck in Nuapada 

At least four persons, including a minor, were killed and a woman sustained critical injuries after the bike they were riding on had a head-on collision with a speeding truck near Komana in Nuapada district on Monday. 

While the identities of the deceased and the injured persons are yet to be ascertained, the woman is believed to be the mother of the child. 

According to sources, all the five persons- three youths, a woman and a child- were going towards Nuapada from Komana area. 

As they were nearing Krishna village square near Komana, the two-wheeler collided head-on with a speeding truck, which was coming from the opposite direction. The collision was so intense that three persons died on the spot. 

The injured persons, a child and a woman, were immediately rescued and rushed to a Komana government hospital where the child succumbed to his injuries. The woman has been shifted to Nuapada district headquarters hospital (DHH) as her condition deteriorated. 

Meanwhile, police have seized the bike and the truck and have launched an investigation to ascertain the circumstances leading to the accident.
