Three people were killed while three others sustained injuries in separate mishaps in Odisha on Monday.

Two persons died and one critically injured when a motorcycle caught fire after being hit by an unidentified vehicle near Bhawanipatna Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) camp office. 

The mishap occurred on Thuamul-Rampur road. Locals rushed three persons to the district headquarters hospital for treatment where doctor pronounced two of them brought dead.

The critically injured is undergoing treatment at the hospital.

The identities of the deceased and the injured are yet to be revealed. Further investigation into the matter is underway.

In another incident in Sundargarh district, a person was killed while two others were injured when one of the tyres of a vibratory roller machine burst in Bonai.

The mishap occurred at a tyre inflator unit in front of a roadside eatery ‘Tarini Dhaba’ in Bonai.

According to eyewitnesses, the incident occurred while the tyre of the roller machine vehicle was being inflated. The roller machine was engaged in the repair works of the national highway.

Locals immediately rushed the injured to the nearby hospital. But one of them succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at the hospital.

The identities of the deceased and the injured have not been established yet. Bonai Police registered a case and are inquiring into the matter.
