 As many as two persons were killed while 10 others injured in two separate road accidents in Odisha on Friday.

As per reports, two persons lost their lives after a scooty and a truck collided at Chandotara Chhack under Sindhekela police station in Bolangir.

The deceased have been identified as Karuna Thapa and Yuvraj Thappa of Dedagaon.

Sources said both Karuna and Yuvraj were travelling on a scooty when the truck coming from the opposite direction had a head-on collision, killing both of them on the spot. The truck driver fled from the spot after the accident.

Later, the Sindhekela police recovered the bodies and sent them for post-mortem.

Further investigation into the case is underway.

In another accident, as many as ten passengers were injured after a bus they were travelling in skidded off the road at Rasibadi ghat under Rayagada block in Gajapati.

All the injured were rescued by fire services personnel and locals. They were immediately admitted into Paralakhemundi hospital. Some of them are stated to be critical.

As per reports, the bus named 'Ispat' was on its way from Puri to Paralakhemundi when the mishap occurred. There were around 30 passengers in the bus.

On being informed, the police reached the spot and started an investigation into the incident.
