In a sad turn of events, a funeral led to two more funerals in Puri when a two-wheeler rear-ended a stationery coal-laden truck near Biragobindapur under Sakhigopal police limits on Tuesday killing two and injuring another.

As per reports, there were three occupants on the two-wheeler including the rider and a woman constable.

The deceased have been identified as Suryakanta Sahu from Hota sahi in Sakhigopal and a constable working in Puri, Sushama Mishra.

Sources said, the trio was returning from a funeral from Swargadwar in Puri when they hit a coal-laden truck on the Puri-Bhubaneswar Jagannath sadak. While two including the constable died on the spot, the injured was rushed to Capital hospital in Bhubaneswar for treatment. His condition is said to be critical.

The bodies are currently at Sakhigopal hospital awaiting autopsy.
