1 dead, 5 critical as Mo Bus and car collide head-on in Puri

One person died while five others suffered serious injuries after a Mo Bus collided head-on with a car near Konark in the early hours of Monday. The mishap occurred when the car was on its way to Bhubaneswar from Chandrabhaga while the Mo Bus was en route to Konark from Puri. 

The condition of the Mo Bus driver is stated to be critical as the vehicle hit a tree alongside the road following the collision. The driver was stuck inside the vehicle and rescue operation was underway.

On the other hand, one occupant of the car died on the spot while the conditions of five others are stated to be critical. All the injured were admitted to Puri District Headquarters Hospital (DHH). 

Later, two of them were referred to Cuttack-based SCB Medical College and Hospital after their condition worsened.

The impact of the collision was so severe that the car was badly mangled. Fortunately, two women passengers and the conductor present inside the bus survived with minor injuries.
