Bhubaneswar: As many as 10 students tested positive for the Covid-19 at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bhubaneswar.

"All have come from outside the State. They have tested positive for the virus during contact tracing. All have been put under quarantine," Khordha Collector Sanat Kumar Mohanty said.

As many as 40 swab samples were sent for RT-PCR test out of which eight had tested positive. Reports of two others testing positive came today, he added.

Doctors have visited and treated them.

Similarly, over 20 students have tested positive for the virus at Allen Institute following which Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) sealed the campus. Public entry into the campus has been restricted. All the patients have been put under quarantine, BMC sources said.

All arrangements including their food and treatment have been made.

On the other hand, authorities at National Institute of Technology (NIT, Rourkela have restricted exit of any staff or students from the campus after four more tested positive for the virus.

As many as 200 samples were collected in last two days for testing. The reports are expected to come in the evening, Rourkela ADM Aboli Sunil Naravane said.

Total number of positive cases at the NIT climbed to seven as three others had tested positive earlier, she added.
