A disturbing case has come to light in Bhopal after two separate complaints exposed an alleged sex exploitation and forced religious conversion racket. The case surfaced when a 21-year-old beautician from Chhattisgarh and a 30-year-old woman from Bhopal approached the police with similar allegations of being lured with job offers, drugged, sexually assaulted and pressured to convert.

Police have arrested two sisters, Afreen and Amreen, in connection with the case, while three men, identified as Bilal, Yasir and Chandan Yadav are currently absconding.

According to the 21-year-old survivor’s complaint, her ordeal began in November 2025 when Amreen, with whom she shared accommodation, took her to meet relatives in Bhopal. She alleged that Bilal mixed an intoxicant in her tea and raped her while she was unconscious.

The following month, she was taken to Ahmedabad, where another accused, Yasir, allegedly assaulted her. She further claimed that Chandan Yadav sexually exploited her multiple times between August 2025 and January 2026.

The survivor alleged she was blackmailed with objectionable photographs, forced to wear revealing clothes, taken to pubs, made to consume drugs and pressured to convert religion and wear a burqa. She managed to escape in January and later lodged a complaint on February 22 at Bagsewania police station.

Second Survivor and Ongoing Probe

A second woman, who worked as a domestic help at Amreen’s residence, filed a similar complaint, alleging gang rape by the same trio. She reportedly provided video evidence.

Police have registered cases under sections related to rape, criminal conspiracy and forced conversion. Investigations are ongoing, with authorities verifying statements and appealing for calm amid protests by local groups.

As the probe unfolds, the case has raised serious concerns about exploitation, safety and communal sensitivity in the city.
