‘Time to move forward’: Smriti Mandhana calls off wedding with Palash Muchhal

Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana has issued a public statement confirming that her wedding to music composer Palash Muchhal has been called off, bringing an abrupt end to a relationship that had drawn significant public attention in recent weeks. The cricketer shared the announcement on her Instagram handle, requesting privacy for both families as she moves forward.

In her statement, Mandhana wrote, “I am a very private person, and I would like to keep it that way. But I need to clarify that the wedding is called off. I would like to close this matter here and implore all of you to do the same.”

Her message comes amid growing media speculation, with the cricketer making it clear that she wishes to end further discussion on the matter.

The Indian Vice-Captain also emphasised her plans to represent the country at the highest level and win trophies for India. "Thank you for all your support. It's time to move forward," she posted on Instagram."

Meanwhile, music composer Palash Muchal has also issued a statement on his Instagram handle, confirming the same.

“I have decided to move on in my life and step back from my personal relationship,” wrote Palash Muchal.

Addressing the cheating rumours, he threatened legal action against the speculations, calling them ‘baseless rumours.’

'It's the most difficult phase of my life, and I will deal with it gracefully, holding on to my beliefs. My team will be taking strict legal action against those spreading false and defamatory content. Thank you to everyone who has stood by me with kindness in this tough time,' he added.

Palash and Smriti were scheduled to marry on November 24 in Sangli, her hometown, with pre-wedding festivities already underway. However, Smriti’s manager announced an indefinite postponement due to her father’s hospitalisation.
