In a horrifying accident in Jaipur’s Harmada area, at least 19 people were killed and 50 injured when a speeding dumper truck ploughed into several vehicles on Monday morning. The mishap occurred near the bustling Loha Mandi area under the Harmada Police Station limits, turning a regular day into chaos and grief.

CCTV footage of the incident shows the uncontrolled dumper ramming into multiple vehicles, cars, bikes, and scooters, before overturning with a loud crash. The impact was so severe that several vehicles were dragged for nearly 300 metres.

Police and Officials on the Scene

Earlier Jaipur Police Commissioner Sachin Mittal initially confirmed 10 deaths, but District Collector Jitendra Soni later stated that 12 people had died and as many were injured. “The dumper hit several vehicles in a chain collision near Loha Mandi. The injured have been shifted to hospitals,” Soni told reporters.

Several victims remain critical at Jaipur’s SMS Hospital, where doctors are battling to save lives in the trauma unit. Police teams rushed to the spot soon after the crash, diverted traffic, and began clearing mangled vehicles from the road.

CM Bhajanlal Sharma Expresses Grief

Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma expressed deep sorrow over the tragedy, calling it “heart-wrenching” and assuring that proper medical care is being provided to the injured.

A Grim Weekend on Rajasthan Roads

This marks the second major road disaster in Rajasthan in just two days. On Sunday, 15 people, including women and children, died when a tourist bus collided with a stationary truck in Phalodi, Jodhpur.

Two consecutive accidents have once again raised serious concerns about road safety and reckless driving on Rajasthan’s highways.
