India’s defence preparedness and technological strength were on full display during the 77th Republic Day parade at Kartavya Path, as mechanised military columns, advanced weapon systems and special forces demonstrations highlighted the country’s growing defence capability.
The grand parade, held in the presence of top national leadership and foreign dignitaries, showcased a blend of military power, discipline and modernisation. A major focus of this year’s ceremony was the demonstration of India’s self-reliant defence ecosystem and readiness to address emerging security challenges.
The parade featured impressive mechanised columns of the Indian Army, displaying frontline combat platforms, missile systems and armoured vehicles. These formations reflected the armed forces’ emphasis on mobility, firepower and coordinated operations. Indigenous defence equipment formed a key part of the display, underscoring India’s push towards self-reliance in defence manufacturing.
Special forces units also played a prominent role, showcasing modern combat capabilities and advanced operational skills. Their presentation highlighted the increasing integration of new technologies, including drones and other force-multiplying systems, aimed at enhancing battlefield effectiveness and rapid response.

Alongside the military showcase, colourful tableaux representing various states and government departments reflected India’s cultural diversity, developmental priorities and national vision. The combined presentation of defence strength and cultural heritage reinforced the message of unity, resilience and progress.
The Republic Day parade once again served as a powerful reminder of India’s commitment to safeguarding its sovereignty while advancing towards technological self-reliance and strategic preparedness.
