In a major breakthrough, police have foiled a suspected terror plot after seizing a massive cache of explosives from a rented house in Faridabad. Acting on intelligence inputs, the Haryana Police, in a joint operation with the Jammu and Kashmir Police, recovered 300 kilograms of ammonium nitrate and an AK-47 rifle from the premises.

According to Faridabad Police Commissioner Satendra Kumar, the raid was conducted at the residence of Dr Mujahil Shakeel, where the explosives were found. Preliminary investigation revealed that Shakeel had rented the house around three months ago only for storage purposes, and was not residing there. Police have arrested Shakeel and are interrogating him for further details.

Aiding Terror Activities

The operation follows the recent arrest of Dr Adil Ahmad Rathore from Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh, who is believed to have links with the terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed. Adil, a native of Jammu and Kashmir, was working at a private clinic and is accused of aiding terror activities.

During interrogation, Adil reportedly revealed information about the Faridabad module, leading to the discovery of the explosives. The seizure has triggered security alerts across the NCR region. Police are now investigating the source of the ammonium nitrate and the intended target of the planned attack.

Raids are currently underway across Jammu and Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Gujarat to trace other individuals possibly linked to the network. Authorities say the recovery has averted what could have been a major terror attack in the national capital region.
