A sweet shop in Jaipur launches a sweet named 'Swarn Prasadam' priced at Rs 1.11 lakh infused with 24 carat edible gold, known as Gold ashes or 'Swarn Bhasma'. The sweet is also presented in a custom-designed jewellery box to enhance its exclusivity.
Anjali Jain, owner of the sweet outlet, said that the sweet is the most expensive sweet in India. Its price is Rs 1.11 lakh. Its appearance and packaging are also very premium. It is packed in a jewellery box made from Chilgoza, which is the most expensive and premium dry fruit in recent times.
Ayurveda Influence & Animal-Free Gold Work
The ingredients used in the sweet reflect a blend of Ayurveda and luxury. According to Jain, the edible gold, also referred to as Swarn Bhasma, is rooted in Indian Ayurvedic traditions. The gold work done on it is bought from a Jain temple, which is animal cruelty-free. The sweet is also coated with saffron and topped with pine nuts, further elevating its premium status.
Other Gold-Infused Offerings
Alongside Swarn Prasadam, the shop offers a range of other gold-infused sweets. These include Pista Lonje at Rs 7,000 per kg, Kaju Katli at Rs 3,500 per kg, laddoos at Rs 2,500 per kg, and a luxury version of rasmalai. These offerings are aimed at an upscale clientele during the festive season, indicating a trend towards luxury gifting.
