India on Sunday strongly condemned Pakistan’s reported airstrikes on Afghan territory that allegedly caused civilian casualties, including women and children, during the holy month of Ramadan.
Responding to media queries, Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said India views the strikes as deeply concerning. “India strongly condemns Pakistan's airstrikes on Afghan territory that have resulted in civilian casualties, including women and children,” he said, calling it another attempt by Pakistan to “externalise its internal failures.” He reiterated India’s support for Afghanistan’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and independence.
Earlier, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan summoned Pakistan’s ambassador in Kabul over what it described as “army attacks” in the eastern provinces of Nangarhar and Paktika. In a post on X, the ministry alleged that the strikes led to “dozens” of casualties.
Meanwhile, the International Human Rights Foundation raised an alarm over reports of a devastating airstrike in the Behsud district. It claimed a Pakistani military strike hit a civilian home, killing at least 16 members of a single family, ranging from a one-year-old infant to an 80-year-old elder. Two children reportedly survived, while a 20-year-old man was injured.
