A grand air show has been organised over the Brahmaputra River at Lachit Ghat in Guwahati, where nearly 60 aircraft—including Rafale, Su-30 MKI, Mirage, Tejas, and Apache helicopters—are showcasing breathtaking aerial manoeuvres. The display, running from 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm, features formations named after Northeast landmarks such as Lachit, Kaziranga, Manas, Elephant, and Barak, blending regional pride with aviation prowess.

The LCA Tejas, flying under the call sign “Lachit,” opened the show as a tribute to Assamese military hero Lachit Barphukan, while Apache helicopters, called “Rhinoceros,” honour Assam’s wildlife. A special musical segment pays homage to singer Zubeen Garg, with his song “Mayabini Ratir Bukut” accompanying the aerial display.
