Investigation Triggered by Suspicious Death

The case came to light after the recent death of a six-year-old girl in Naultha village. Initially thought to be accidental, the circumstances of the drowning soon aroused suspicion. The post-incident investigation uncovered striking similarities with earlier child deaths involving shallow water, prompting authorities to probe further.

Victims Included Niece and Own Son

According to police, the woman first killed her sister-in-law’s daughter in Bohad village of Sonipat in 2023. To divert attention and avoid suspicion, she later drowned her own son. The murders continued at her maternal home and again during a wedding in Naultha village, where her niece Vidhi became the latest victim. Each child was found drowned in extremely shallow water, in one case just a foot deep a detail that raised immediate red flags for investigators.
