On October 20, the Amavasya period begins at 3:44 PM and ends at 5:54 PM the next day, making this window significant for pujas and rituals.
The auspicious Lakshmi Puja muhurat on that day is fixed from 7:21 PM to 8:19 PM, falling within the Pradosh period (5:51 PM to 8:19 PM) according to Drik Panchang.

Dhanteras (Oct 18, Saturday): The muhurat is from 7:16 PM to 8:20 PM. It is customary to clean homes and make purchases of precious items (especially metal) to invoke prosperity.
Naraka Chaturdashi / Choti Diwali (Oct 20, Monday): Morning ritual (Abhyanga snana) is advised from 5:02 AM to 6:11 AM, followed by the Lakshmi Puja in the evening (7:21 PM–8:19 PM). This day marks the victory of Lord Krishna over the demon Narakasura.
Deepawali (Oct 21, Tuesday): The principal Lakshmi Puja takes place between 11:36 PM and 12:26 AM crossing into late night.
Govardhan Puja (Oct 22, Wednesday): The morning muhurat is from 6:26 AM to 8:42 AM, celebrating Lord Krishna’s lifting of Govardhan Hill to protect villagers.
Bhai Dooj (Oct 23, Thursday): The muhurat runs from 2:10 PM to 4:24 PM, when sisters perform rituals and seek blessings for their brothers.
