BJP National Vice President and Kendrapara MP Baijayant Panda has been appointed as the party’s Election In-charge for the upcoming Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.
According to a notification issued by BJP National General Secretary Arun Singh, the appointment was made by party president Jagat Prakash Nadda.
Panda, a Member of Parliament in the Lok Sabha, will lead the party’s election strategy and oversee preparations in Tamil Nadu. He will be supported by Union Minister Murlidhar Mohol, who has been named Election Co-Incharge.

The appointments are seen as part of the BJP’s renewed push to strengthen its organisational base in Tamil Nadu ahead of the crucial polls.
Party insiders said Panda’s national-level experience and organisational role are expected to play a key part in shaping the BJP’s outreach in the southern state, where the party is seeking to expand its footprint.
The BJP also named Union ministers Dharmendra Pradhan and Bhupender Yadav, both key OBC faces and most seasoned poll managers of the party, as its in-charge for the Assembly elections in Bihar and Bengal, respectively.
Speaking to OTV, Biranchinarayan Tripathy, Odisha BJP Vice President, said, “Our party accepts all kinds of challenges every day. We always face challenges, fight, and solve for the betterment of our state, country, and our party. So, we will look into all the prevailing problems of the people in Tamil Nadu and take necessary action.”
“BJP is spreading rapidly in Tamil Nadu as people there are not happy with the present DMK government. The outrage of people against DMK will be a blessing for BJP,” he added.
The Bihar elections are expected in November, followed by West Bengal and Tamil Nadu, which are likely to go to polls in March-April 2026.
