Polling began across 45,399 booths in Bihar on Tuesday for the second phase of the Assembly elections, covering 122 constituencies across the state.

According to the Election Commission, over 3 crore voters are eligible to cast their ballots in this phase, which will decide the fate of 1,302 candidates. The electorate includes 1.95 crore male voters, 1.74 crore female voters, and 943 third-gender voters.

Voting began at 7 AM and will continue throughout the day under elaborate security arrangements. The India-Nepal border has been sealed, and authorities have stepped up vigil in sensitive areas to prevent any untoward incidents.

More than 1,500 companies of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), 50 Bihar Special Armed Police (BSAP) companies, around 20,000 trainee constables, and over 22,000 Home Guard personnel and chowkidars have been deployed to ensure peaceful polling.

The results for all seats will be declared on November 14, 2025.

    Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday morning appealed to citizens in Bihar to create another record as voting for the second phase of assembly elections begins.

    Taking to X, the Prime Minister urged first-time Gen Z voters to exercise their franchise and encourage others to do so.
