Air India Flight

An Air India flight (AI174) travelling from San Francisco to Delhi made a precautionary landing in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, on Sunday after the crew detected a suspected technical issue mid-air. The flight, which was operating via Kolkata, landed safely, and all passengers and crew were reported safe, the airline confirmed.

Air India’s Official Statement

In a statement, the airline said, “We are working closely with our partners to support all passengers while making efforts to get everyone to their destination at the earliest opportunity. We regret the inconvenience caused by this unforeseen situation. At Air India, passenger safety remains our top priority.”

Arrangements were made for refreshments and assistance for passengers while they awaited updates.

IndiGo Flight Diverted Over Security Threat

In a separate incident, an IndiGo flight (6E 68) from Jeddah to Hyderabad was diverted to Mumbai on Saturday after the airline received a security threat. Following standard protocol, the airline alerted authorities, and security checks were carried out before the aircraft was cleared for further operations.

“All passengers were safe, provided refreshments, and kept informed during the process,” IndiGo said.

Both incidents underline the airlines’ commitment to safety and vigilance. While the situations caused temporary delays, swift action by the crew and authorities ensured that passengers remained safe, reinforcing that in aviation, safety always comes before schedule.
