The accused Zomato delivery agent identified as Kamaraj claims that it was Hitesha who hurled abuses and threw a slipper at him. During the incident, she accidentally hurt herself causing her to bleed. He presented his side of the story which painted a different picture highlighting that apparently, he was the victim in the incident.
Kamaraj told The News Minute, “At this point when I was walking towards the lift, she started using expletives in Hindi. She suddenly threw slippers at me and started hitting me. For my safety, when she was hitting me, I tried to use my hand to shield her blows,”
"When she was trying to push my hand away, she accidentally hit herself with her finger ring on the nose, which led to the bleeding. Anybody who sees her face will understand that this wouldn't be created by a punch. And I don’t wear any rings,” he added.
In the video, Hitesha can be seen wearing a ring. Meanwhile, Zomato founder Deepinder Goyal chimed in on the matter and said the company is covering the legal and medical expenses of both Hitesha and Kamaraj till the truth comes out and the probe is completed. He further added in the tweet, “For the record - Kamaraj has made (approximately) 5,000 deliveries for us so far, and has a 4.75/5 star rating on our platform (which is one of the highest), and has been working with us for 26 months now. (These are facts, not opinions, or inferences)”

People under this hashtag #zomatodeliveryboy are busy gaslighting a woman.
This is the level of Feminism in India. Sympathize with the abuser rather than the victim. She is not doing this for followers.#BelieveWomen #StopVictimBlaming pic.twitter.com/pc6vbhAbQf— 🌬❄️ (@ChastainxMargot) March 11, 2021
After reading assorted accounts of this incident, I find it difficult to believe that a #zomato delivery guy would attack a client unprovoked, that too when the client is a woman. At least to me it seems like the woman is looking for cheap fame. #zomatodeliveryboy https://t.co/rpUtiGNYS7
