Bhubaneswar: All eyes are now on the rail bridge over the Chenab river in Jammu and Kashmir which is nearing its completion by the Indian Railways.

As per the Indian Railways, the arch railway bridge will be the highest bridge in the world as it is 359m above sea level. The bridge will connect Kashmir valley to the rest of the nation.

The Ministry of Railways shared interesting facts about this engineering marvel through a video shared on the social media platforms.

Here are quick interesting facts about the iconic railway bridge;

-The bridge is 1315 mt long with main arch span of 467m

-It is 35 meters higher than the iconic Eiffel tower in Paris

-The height of the steel piers provided on the main Arch foundation at Katra end is of 131m which is much taller than Qutub Minar (72m)

-The bridge has been designed to withstand windspeed of 266km per hour

-At peak of construction activity, nearly 3200 people were working on the project site
