WARNING: IRCTC warns against ‘unofficial food delivery’ agencies

New Delhi/Bhubaneswar: Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) will soon launch 'Menu On Rail' app enabling passengers to order food online. As per IRCTC’s tweet, the availability of food through this app will vary according to the category of the train.

Food ordered through the 'Menu on Rail' app will be available for four train categories - Mail, Express, Humsafar trains in first category, Rajdhani Express, Shatabdi Express and Duronto Express trains in second category, Gatimaan Express train in third category, and Tejas Express train in the fourth category, NDTV reported.

“Attention Travellers: @IRCTCofficial is the only authorized agency to take & deliver order through e-Catering in Trains,” IRCTC tweeted.

"IRCTC is the only authorised agency to take and deliver orders through e-catering in trains. Beware of unauthorized entities like: Travelkhana, Railyatri, Omitra, Yatrachef. Make sure to order food through Food on Track mobile app," IRCTC said.

Passengers can book food online through the website: www.ecatering.irctc.co.in

The train commuters can also book food through mobile app, 'Food on Track', by downloading the app on Android/IOS phones. Besides, food can be ordered through SMS, by typing MEAL <PNR> and sending it to 139.

Note: After placing the order, you need to select payment mode -cash on delivery or prepaid (online payment).
