Bhubaneswar: The Centre has lifted restrictions on several sectors in Unlock 4 and now the Indian Railways has also reportedly decided to run more trains to aid hassle-free transportation of people.

The railway will run 80 new special passenger trains from September 12, adding more trains to already operational 230 trains across the country, reported DD News.

"The Ministry of Railways (MoR) in consultation with the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MoHFW) and Ministry of Home Affairs(MHA) has decided to run 40 pairs (80 trains) of more special trains from 12th September 2020," it reported.

Meanwhile, booking for the new 80 passenger trains will begin from the coming week. "...passengers can start booking reservations in new trains from September 10," it said.

"The booking of accommodation in these trains shall start from 10th September 2020. These will be fully reserved trains," it added.

Of this, the South Western Railway (SWR) railway zone will reportedly operate seven additional special pairs of trains.

The trains are from Bengaluru Cantonment to Guwahati, Yeshwanthpur to Bikaner, Mysuru to Jaipur, Mysuru to Solapur, Yeshwanthpur to Gorakhpur and KSR Bengaluru to New Delhi.
