Union Minister Shripad Naik Critical, Wife Succumbs In Road Mishap

Panaji: Union Minister of State for Defence Sripad Naik suffered serious injuries, while his wife Vijaya died after they met with an accident in North Karnataka on Monday.

As per reports, the car they were travelling in turned turtle at Hosakambi village of Ankola taluk in Karnataka's Uttara Kannada district.

Naik's PA (personal assistant) Deepak Dube has also been killed in the accident. There were four occupants in the car, who were travelling from Yallpura to Gokarna, informed officials.

Goa BJP spokesperson Narendra Sawaikar has wished Naik a "speedy recovery".

"He met with an accident in Karnataka and his condition is serious," Sawaikar told reporters.
