Srinagar: Two civilians in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama district were critically injured on Saturday after being shot by unidentified gunmen, police said.

The attack took place on two civilians, identified as Aijaz Ahmad Mir and Shiraz Ahmad Malik, in Trenz village of Shopian.

"Both the injured persons have been referred by attending doctors to Srinagar for specialized treatment," a police officer said.

The identity of the assailants and the reasons for the two civilians being targeted are being investigated, police said.
