Mumbai: A Versova autorickshaw driver Mohammad Saeed has been in news after one of his photos which shows him carrying his two-year-old son on the lap while driving went viral. Tweeted by a film director, donations and help from individuals and NGOs started pouring in for the 26-year-old driver.
As reported by the Hindustan Times, “Saeed’s wife, Yasmin, 24, suffered a stroke, which left her paralysed. Working around the clock, Saeed now takes care of his wife and children, along with trying to make ends meet. He usually takes his son to work, while his three-month-old daughter is taken care of by a neighbour.”

Coming from a background that disallows the family even two square meals a day, Saeed’s condition worsened after his wife was paralysed. He has also faced rejection from many customers who, after seeing a child in his lap, have gone on to other autos.
As soon as Saeed’s photo with son was on twitter, help has started pouring in from many quarters.
